Milpark business school deregistered me without consultation
I received a letter today via email informing me that I have been deregistered from a qualification which I was busy with .I registered in 2018 and due to financial hardships did not register for any modules this year .This was communicated to Milpark prior to this de registration of my circumstances when I emailed them seeking financial assistance and an extension. I have three years to complete this qualification and I am still within my three year period .I planned to complete the remaining 4 modules next year as I am now in gainful employment . Despite me communicating this to them ,Milpark went ahead with the de registration without consultation or consent .The exclusions commitee who took this decision made no prior attempt to ascertain why I was dormant this year and did not allow me to make submissions as to why I should not be deregistered .The consequences is now I have to appeal this decision .If I am successful and if any of the modules I already completed is updated or replaced I will have to do the modules again .I have already paid for those modules and passed them and see no reason why I should redo them if such changes take effect as if I was not afforded an opportunity to make representations before they took this decision .The potential prejudice I may suffer is I am now at the mercy of Milpark and if changes take effect I will suffer financially and my professional advancement will be further delayed ,while Milpark is paid again for modules they already received payment for . I find this highly ********* .In any industry or if you are charged with any crimes or misconduct in employment you are afforded an opportunity to make representations first, before any sanctions can be passed .To just de register a student without making ascertations from them first as to why they have been dormant is ********* and unfair .I will not appeal this de registration as I was not afforded an opportunity not to be de registered and should not have been de- registered in the first place .Secondly if I should appeal this then I am indirectly agreeing to the terms and conditions set by Milpark which I do not agree to .This must be rectified by Milpark .I reserve my rights to approach a court of law should this not be rectified .I will only appeal this matter if it is clear that by appealing I do not accept their decision to unilateraly de register me and the terms and conditions set by Milpark, or if Iam advised by legal counsel to do so before approaching a court of law .I urge Milpark to meet with me face to face to try and resolve this with a legal representative from Milpark present . I do not feel this decision taken by the exclusions commitee was fair or followed fair policies and I will challenge this as this not only effects me as an individual ,but also affects other learners who are subjected to such policies .
