Milky Lane Kenilworth Centre, RUDE staff!
On 8 Nov 2018, just before 12 midday, a friend and I waited for our food (from another franchise) in the food court section of Kenilworth Centre. While sitting at the tables waiting, 2 ladies from the neighbouring Milky Lane approached with a tray of a sample desserts. While the one who was holding the tray started telling me about this new ice cream dessert, her colleague is standing a very short distance away, positioning her cellphone to take photos of us. I asked the lady if she's taking photos or making a video to which she rep**** that she's taking photos. I tried explaining to the lady that she is not allowed to take photos of me, or anyone else, without the permission of the patrons. She responded that she is not taking a photo of me but of her colleague "to show she's doing her job", which I pressume was to promote this new ice cream/dessert. I said to her that at the distance she's standing from us, it is not possible that I (or the surrounding people) will not be featured in her photo. She abruptly tells me that I could've just said I don't want the dessert. I said it's not about the dessert and they are totally missing the point. The "photographer" is already in your face, before the promoter even starts to explain the cause or what they intend on achieving. I again stated that they are just not allowed to take photos of anyone without explaining the purpose thereof as well as getting peoples' permission. Both ladies walked away and the one carrying the tray, with major attitude rudely remarks (which my friend confirmed was directed at me), to which I called this lady out on that her behaviour is uncalled for and she shouts at me, in front of patrons sitting around us, that she was not talking to me and continues shouting at me. I am disgusted by this kind of behaviour and lack of decent customer care, whether I bought from Milky Lane KC today or not. One cer*****y is that I will never be a customer of theirs, ever! Not because of the photograph issue but simply because of the blatantly rude manner in which they handled the situation. I witnessed them continuing in their quest in the same manner, ready to snap away, unbeknownst to oblivious patrons. And if it was a case of her photographing ONLY her colleague and not the patrons, then why continue going around to different people with her camera phone? Milky Lane KC could've been a good few customers richer, had their staff dealt with this matter differently, instead it had just the opposite effect, sadly.
