Half an ice-cream

I've been going to Milky Lane on Durban's North Beach since I was five years old (so about 26 years). It's become a bit of an institution for me and my family. I haven't been there in a while though, but decided to pick up the "tradition" again. However, the last few times I've gone I've thought, "hmmm, these look a little smaller than what I remember." Today I actually held the ice-cream up to the menu board (receiving strange looks from those near by)... and they're about half the size of what they are on the board.

Having worked in the restaurant industry for 7 years I've learnt to notice all the "corner cutting" tricks, and I would put my money on the fact that the owner (new owner?), much like other franchisees, is attempting to cut his overheads in the easiest way possible... ***** from the customer by reducing portion sizes. And if there's one thing I hate it's a cheap skate.

Would love to continue my beach ice-cream tradition but I refuse to support penny pinching.
