Milex reneging in their warranty

We bought an airfryer on 25 July 2019 through Takelot and received it on 30/07/2019.

We bought the biggest (and most expensive) one available

My wife duly registered the warranty as required on 05/08/2019.

The markings on the control panel denoting time are coming off. The temperature markings however seem ok but they too will become unclear.

Soon we will not be able to read the time and temperatures and this will render the unit unusable

Referred this to Milex who state it’s normal wear and tear.

How can this be?

Surely painted numbers are not suitable in a product like this.

I think this is just an excuse for not adhering to their warranty.

Naturally will never buy their products again
