Horrible Job and No Refund

Please be wary of using this company based in Empangeni and owned by Piet and Shaylene Kok. In July, we had an emergency fence repair that needed to be done and we found the company via Facebook. We also informed them about other repairs and renovations which they were eager to do.

A few weeks later, we had a burst pipe that needed to be repaired. Our insurance repaired the pipe but there was damage to our wall, bathroom tiles and built-in cupboards.

We also agreed to have a gate installed. Not only did Piet promise to come for two weeks, but when he finally did they did a horrific, rushed job in our home. The four times that they had to install were done poorly, the cupboards have called apart and the wall that they plastered in an eye-sore. They also painted the wall, the wrong color.

Piet told us he would ensure that he fixed the mess they made. But once again, they didn’t show up. I then asked for a refund which he agreed to. It’s since been a month and he hasn’t done so. When we call him, he says we will get the money but he doesn’t tell us when.

He refuses to contact me (who paid him). I met him and his wife at the shops and instead of speaking to us (since he claims to have a problem with his phone), they tried to avoid us. I asked him when we are going to hear from him and it’s been a month already but he couldn’t answer and walked away.

These people are not qualified to do the work people pay them to do. I mean, they couldn’t fit it four tiles or even plaster a wall properly but they claim to do home maintenance.

They dishonest, careless, dismissive and unprofessional. Please don’t hire them.
