Discremination

On the 16th of May, I was at the store and wanted to buy a pair of shoes that I saw and liked, it was the only size 7 left, but I realised that I had left my account card at home. I asked at the till if I can use my ID book, but the store manager Cindy refused stating that it is not allowed I rather I come back the next day. It didn't make sense to me because my ID book even has my face on it and it's easy to ***** with a ****** account card than an ID book.

Fine I left without purchasing, I returned the next day to my surprise as I was waiting to pay at the till another customer of her race was requesting to purchase with her ID book and the same manager allowed it and even sad but its not allowed, she didn't realise I was the same customer she refused the same purchase yesterday, and that I was listening to the whole conversation as i was next to be served.

When I confronted her asking her why she did not allow me the same yesterday like she just did with this customer in front of me, she simply told me that if I was a regular customer at her store she would have allowed me but she don't know me so she couldn't. That statement showed me clearly that at Miladys we are not treated the same by some store managers and to me that's an insult.

I sent a formal complain to the store's email address, instead of them getting the same manager to apologise, they called me and offered me a R50 voucher. Really? As if I was not looking for handouts the store does not sell anything for R50 anyway as it is a clothing store.
