Worst Restaurant
Load shedding hit so I took the family off to Mike's Kitchen Alberton. Who knew it would be the worst dining experience I have ever had. I should have stayed in, instead of wasting my hard earned money. My wife considered the carvery but changed her mind when she saw how old and dried everything looked. My mother in law ordered the Jozi fillet, my wife the Cape Town fillet and I ordered a 300g fillet with creamy peri peri sauce. The waitress came back a few minutes after placing our order, because the chef wanted to know if the Jozi Fillet should have a sour or ****** sauce. We showed the waitress that we want it with black cherry sauce as per the menu. The food arrived, my 300g steak was smaller than the other 2 and the sauce was not creamy, more like an oily chakalaka from a tin. My wife's steak was full of sinew and my mother got chips instead of baked potato. Our waitress never returned so we called the manager before paying. We told Wilson of our dissatisfaction and he came back a while later. He phoned the owner and was authorised to offer us a cup of coffee to compensate. He did not charge for the sauce. His attitude was poor and we all left in a foul mood feeling ******.
