Midvaal Private Hospital Drie Riviere

I am at my wits end with Midvaal Private Hospital in Drie Riviere, Vereeniging. On 1 May 2020 I took my wife in the early morning hours to the hospital due to high blood pressure. When arriving at the hospital we were informed that as we do not have a medical fund, we need to pay for everything in advance. Which I did. Shortly afterwards I start receiving mails with invoices from them claiming that the doctors fess are still outstanding and I need to pay this amount. I contacted them , explained that I was told that I have to pay for everything upfront and according to me nothing is outstanding. The lady said she will look into it. Then I start getting mails from Lexmed on behalf of Midvaal Private Hospital with regards to this so-called "OUTSTANDIND DOCTORS FEES" I phoned and mailed them, explained my situation and also inform them that I will not pay tis as I already paid onsite that morning. Then on the 12/01/2021 I received a mail from Lexmed where in the mail it states " Please see feedback from my client: Good day Andre, as per query below ; I received feedback from management that the file was audited and all the correct procedure were followed for this member at the time of admission . You may continue with the hand over procedures . Regards Hope you understand" Since when do you take you car for a service, pays for the work done and then a few days/months later the mechanic sends you an invoice for his services. Best of all in this episode: Remember, this was 1 may 2020, just the beginning of Covid. When we arrive at the hospital with my wife with VERY high blood pressure, after I made the payment, she was admitted to the emergency room. When the doctor came, he stood at the end of the bed, tapped her ankle and asked that a Covid test been done. I then said she was their because of her high blood pressure and not because of any other sickness. He walked out and a few minutes later a nurse came to me and said the doctor wants exrays of he lungs and I need to go and pay R800-00 for the x-rays before it can be done. This is when we decided to book out and go and see our own doctor in the morning.
