Midvaal Local Municipality just out of the blue came up with the opening balance of R2609,88 in November 2020 when the closing balance in October was R834! Since then my balance, despite keeping my monthly payments, my balance is gradually increasing and is now sitting at R2620. They have ignored all my emails that I send every month when I receive the incorrect statement. I have sent them proof of payment accompanied by the invoices that demonstrate where they made an error. I have involved their complaints department - they are also ignoring me. I only missed one month's payment in October but I made up for it by paying R1666 since my monthly payment is R834. I have been paying extra over the months, sometimes, like in December 2020 I paid R900, in January 2021 I paid R850 and in Febraury 2021 I paid R850. I repeat, my monthly payment is R834. Instead of having a credit I am in arrears because this municipality is trying to **** me into paying them way more than what I owe!!
