Midtown Rentals *******, bogus company

THIS COMPANY HAS NO CK REG NO AVAILABLE, THE ADDRESS ON THEIR WEBSITE IS A LIE, THEY HAVE NO LANDLINE NUMBER...Perfect combination to lie and ***** peoples money!

Absolutely disgusting service received from Midtown Rentals operating in Cape Town by a cloud based run company...Check the website out: https://www.midtownrentals.co.za/

On 16 February 2019 I checked into apartment 141 at The Square just one of the Midtown Rentals properties to the dismay and dissatisfaction of the apartment as they pictures provided on Booking.com was NOTHING in comparrison to what the actual apartment looked like. I immediately called the cellphone number +27 (0)61 ********** and emailed ********** to cancel the booking as I was not going to be staying in that apartment. I was informed by Ryan (Employee who answered the cellphone number & told me to send a cancellation email) that a because I paid via EFT that it would take 14 days to process the refund. At no point in time did he mention that this would lead to them robbing me, lying to me and the public, first offering to pay a refund of 50% of the amount paid and then having the manager refusing to pay my money because apparently I wrote a bad review!

They absolutely ****, falsely advertise the description, contents & facilities of the apartment: apparently there was supposed to be a washing machine, tumble dryer, sofa, dishwasher and a dinning table that doesnt exist! They even listed "pool view" from the apartment but the apartment was on the 1st floor of the building! There was no internet connection so the TV did not work. I couldnt stomach this apartment and left about 10mins after checking in and most of the time spent in the apartment was because of me expressing my dissatisfaction with Ryan over the phone.

To top it all off, you cannot pay in cash as a maintenance worker needs to come meet you to take the cash from you and hand you the keys to the apartment but only between certain times set out by them as the employees are not around after 4pm. I was then forced to do an EFT payment (Just my luck as I wouldve demanded my cash refund then and there), then got email instructions to collect the apartment keys from the Perspectives building which was on another street around the block!! I nonetheless did that, and then found out where I had to park... A designated parking lot building across the street of the actual apartment, 9 floors up!!! I had to carry all my luggage down the 9 floors, across the street and then only made my way into the actual apartment building only to find out that the apartment was an absolute *******!

I will never ever go back or support their business again, rude employees, no business ethics, appauling and disgusting manager to say the very least! *******, absolute *******, I will definitely be going to the police station and lay a charge of theft as I have given them ample time to resolve this matter to the point I actually had to research this company and its owners trying to track down their offices as they refused to answer any emails regarding this matter and my refund.

This should actually be a zero star rating, that 1 start is so undeserving.
