****** at Midland Saddle and Trout

On 19 November 2021, my husband booked us away to Midlands Saddle and Trout. During the early hours of the morning of 20 November 2021, someone gained access into our unit and stole all our belongings amounting to over R70,000.00. To this day no one has provided feedback on their internal investigation. No response to my message by the regional manager. Having been a victim of crime previously, and not been out in 2 years, my husband specifically chose this resort because it is fully gates, access controlled and with visible security. The investigators from the resort came to investigate that morning only to look confused and tell me that they don't know how someone entered the apartment. This morning I see a post on their Facebook page where a guest complained that housekeeping opened their door with a key while they were still in the unit. I have a police report, went through alot of inconvenience, lost money and valuable items all because of negligence of this resort. They have went back on their word to refund me Spa treatments that we had on the first night and still charged me for the night of horror! I was visibly upset having had my space invaded while I was there and shudder to think of the consequences if I left my bedroom to confront the perpetrators. All has been swept under the carpet and where does this leave me?? PTSD and thousands out of pocket with no remorse or compensation due pure negligence! No one thinks of having something like this happen to them while on holiday in a "secure" resort especially when you locked ALL your doors and leave a tiny bathroom window open for air.
