Midlands Saddle & Trout - Worst manager and managing staff ever encountered!

We arrived to a unit that was far from ready even though we got there a hour after check in. There was not enough linen for 6 guests. The duvets was bare and when the duvet covers were eventually brought to us a few hours later they were wet. To top the Linen story off the main bedroom linen was discovered to have been unclean and needed to be changed at 23h00. Later that night we went to the restaurant where one of us received meat that was off.

Intermediate outrides with the horses we were told was R200pp for 1 hour. Four of us beginner riders with little experience came back within half an hour. When we questioned management, we were told we rode to fast. A 10yr old with one lesson behind him cannot canter around an entire course!!! The response of the manager to our side of the story is "the customer is always right so why bother arguing about it" and in a huff refunded the money and refused to discuss the issue.

Two days later, the 10 year old asked for another horse ride. We went to book and the gentleman behind the counter excuses himself to call the manager and the equestrian manageress, and without so much as a hello or good morning says (in front of the children) "Listen guys, I am actually reluctant to let you book. Actually, I think we should abandon this ride altogether". After the blatantly obnoxious and rude way in which the manager treated us in the shop in front of the children and other staff/guests, we had enough. We packed up a few hours later and left 3 days earlier than what we had booked for.

I hope that no one ever has to experience the horrid service that we encountered at the First Resort Midlands Saddle and Trout. Ultimately Midlands Saddle and Trout is over-priced and under-delivered
