Delayed Payment of refund

Please help. I am an unemployed single parent struggling with 2 girls. One if them is doing grade 6 in Midland Primary and high school in Midrand. In July my daughter was suspended for 3 weeks as I was behind with school fees. With the help of friends I managed to pay the fees and she was allowed back to school. Some friends continued to pay and I also paid whenever I could. This then resulted in overpayment. The school acknowledges that. The child also got scholarship covering her 2020 fees. The challenge that I'm having is that the school keeps on saying they will refund me but no date. I must just wait. The school knows my situation. I told them that we have nothing at home. We have no food and it is examination time. Going to school without breakfast or lunch is affecting my daughter. I spoke to the school several times and they keep saying wait and anyway it is your fault that you overpaid. Please help me.
