Midea Warranty Lies

I purchased a midea refrigerator from takealot, in October 2001 they advertised it as a 10 warranty on the compressor it even has the sticker on regarding the 10 year warrantyr, after calling the manufacturer as per takealot I was told to call their outsourced technicians, who Inturn are telling me Midea only has a 2 year warranty and they must quote me for a call out and assessment then quote for the repairs. Why are you falsely advertising a 10 year warranty, secondly what quality are you selling when a fridge only last for 2 years? I want my compressor replaced at no charge that is the reason I was comfortable buying a less common name.
