Terrible client service and knowledge of products.

I bought a Midas branded car battery from Midas in Kimberley, Long Street in May 2018. This battery was highly recommended from the Sales consultant who assisted me, who also advised me to purchase this battery as it comes with a 2 year warranty. I made sure to ask the consultant what is carried under warranty as I have no previous experience of purchasing an car batteries, my response was as follows: "If the battery gives you problems, you must bring it in". Went on working wonders at first and a few months passed, the battery started running down on its own and not holding a charge for very long. Took the battery in was sent for testing for an entire day which was a complete inconvenience due to having no alternative transport nor any temporary solution made by the company. I was called the following the following day to collect the battery and was told that the battery was fine and just needed to be charged. Took the battery used for a few weeks then had the same problem not long after. I charged the battery myself as was told that I can charge the battery at home instead of being inconvenienced by bringing it in and waiting a day so I did. Had the same problem for some time and decided to take the battery in again. Was told the same thing as before (this time noticed a liquid on both terminals, wiped down and battery was cleaned, assumed this was something to help protect the terminals). After taking the battery in for the third time because now something was leaking from the battery and causing my battery holder in the car to melt, burning off the paint and then causing corrosion which has now turned to rust. I took videos and pictures and went back to Midas and was assisted by the owner, who was unfriendly and did not have the time of day to listen to my complaint nor the pictures or videos. The batter was sent in for testing (I went with for the testing) Battery Center in Kimberley told me they cannot exchange the battery due to physical damage... (Please understand my confusion and frustration as this was not explained to me in any way). The owner was then notified who I had to drive after with a car that I loan while he was also not worried at all about me being late for work. The owner then took the battery charged it, went to fetch it later that day and was asked to bring the car in the following day for testing which I did. The terminal clamp and alternator plug was found faulty, I asked about the physical damaged and was told that the owner had spoke to the rep and confirmed that the only reason why the battery cannot be exchanged was due to there being no problem with the battery and has nothing to do with any physical damage. The clamp was replaced by the owner and alternator plug was fixed. I left with the battery working again for about 2 weeks again. I then took the battery in again and when tested in store it showed the battery has to be replaced. Now the owner says that the battery cannot be exchanged due to physical damage. I am confused with how one thing cannot be considered one day and then after a while be considered. I would like for them to replace my battery but will be taking the matter further. Will not advise any one to buy a battery at Midas in Kimberley and nor will I ever support any of the owners businesses again in future.
