Poor experience returning goods

Disappointing service when trying to return a stainless steel kettle to the store. Was told by the lady at the front desk that it was my fault that the kettle had started rusting after 2 or 3 uses. If she was not so confrontational, and at least greeted me on arrival, the experience could have been a bit better. It may have been a small item, but it is a matter of principle. Her attitude may not reflect the attitude of the store as a whole, but it was, nonetheless, a poor experience, leaving a bad taste.
