Misleading Information given on Product and Struggle With Refund (Midas Silverton)

I've purchased a scala rider FREECOM headset device at Midas Silverton over the weekend, Saturday 2017/11/25 to be exact, to use on the motorcycle whereby I've asked the salesman (Tyrell) if the devices will meet my requirements such as connecting to other FREECOM devices when riding in a group. I've only heard about the product from my friend so did not have quite a lot of information on the scala rider devices. The salesman mislead me in the first place by informing me that this device indeed will connect to other devices and also has an excellent range. So I bought it cash and was happy and exited about this product. Later the evening I've "Google" more information and specs on the "FREECOM 2" device and noticed that this is only for the rider and passenger, and can't be used with a 3rd or 4th devices. Only to find out that there is a FREECOM 4 device which supports this functionality indeed. Went back the next day to refund this product in the morning when the store just opened so that they can see I have not used the product even once, and was unable to get a cash refund immediately. (At this stage I went back to the same salesman, and immediately he noticed that this is a FREECOM 2 and not a FREECOM 4 device. Here I asked myself the question, "so you knew about the FREECOM 4 device, and yet sold me something that I asked you about before the purchase, and still mislead me as a customer about the specific functionality that I required. I was even told "THE RANGE IS EXCELLENT") I was advise to come back in an hours’ time, but was unable to due to other activities. Eugene working at Midas, informed me that they can refund the cash of this product back to my debit card and will only take a day to reflect. This morning 2017/11/29 there was still no refund reflecting from Midas Silverton in my bank account whereby I've contacted the bank to find out if there is a problem or whatsoever. I've been instructed by Absa to follow up with the store where the purchase was made because the refund was processed by them, and there is nothing the bank can do for me. I've contacted Wilma at Midas Silverton, the Manager whereby I was suddenly advised that the refund process will take approximately 10 working days, after the second conversation. I'm very disappointed in the misleading information the staff at Midas Silverton is giving, as this result in unhappy customers without refunds for 10 working days, and this is not just R200 that I’m mentioning here. If I was correctly advised from the beginning, I wouldn't have purchase this product in the first place, because it does not match my needs. Secondly, if I was advised correctly about the long process the refund might take, I would've gone back the following day, and arranged for a cash refund to be made. At this stage I'm running low on money due to all this incorrect information given by Midas Silverton staff, and all I can get from them is "There is nothing we can do, the refund has already been made". The Manager, Wilma, which is supposed to handle situations alike, keeps on passing the phone to her staff making the mistakes by giving incorrect information to customers, and was advised again telephonically today by Eugene that refunds is not supposed to take so long, whereby he took my number and advised that he will come back to me, and never did. In my opinion, this is not satisfying the customer at the end of the day and placing the customer in second place.

Good day,

We do apologise for the service.

We are however pleased to have been advised that the store has arranged a credit for the transaction.

Kind Regards,
