Midas Roodepoort Service Sucks
I bought an item on the 26th at Midas Roodepoort. When I wanted to fit the part it was the wrong part supp****. I was also told there is no guarantee on this part which is *******. I paid over R2000 for this part so what they are saying is that if the part is faulty its not their problem so I wouldve wasted R2000. After finding out that the wrong part was supp**** I returned it on the 29th. Take note that I paid using my bank card on the 26th and the transaction went through and the money was taken from my account. When I returned the part I requested a refund and the lady did a refund using the Card machine. Without telling me how long its going to take if she do the refund that way. So what happened now is that the transaction on the 26th was decucted from my account that day, but the bank only processed the transaction on the 30th. So by the time the transaction was processed my bank went into a minus and now my bank has basically let the transaction go through but now they are charging me extra fees because the transaction went through after I had no more funds in my bank. Now I'm sitting with a minus of R200+ because Midas did a transaction late on my account and I still have not recieved my refund. Its now the 1st of July and I have still not recieved my refund and all they can say is they cant do anything about it as the banks take 5-7 working days for the refund to be processed. So firstly I was supp**** the wrong part, it cost me to go there and buy it, then I had to travel to fit the part then travel back as it was the wrong part and then do a refund which has now put my bank account into the minus and I have not recieved my refund. The service recieved from Midas is terrible. After returning the part I was advised they will call me the next day to advise if they can get a replacement part and they never called.I called back to enquire whats happening and I was advised they will call be which they never did once again. I called back again the next day and spoke to the manager about the refund and the replacement part and she said she cannot help me. What is happening to service in our country. We pay alot for services and expect good service but we do not get it. And it happens everywhere and with all retail shops and banks. You swipe your card for a transaction, then the money gets taken out of your account then a few days later you find your account is in the minus and when you enquire about it you are told that its because your account was in arrears when you did the purchase which is not the case because if your account was in arrears you wont be able to purchase anything so how can bank charges be added for a transaction that went through and your account was not in the minus and then suddenly you owe the bank as they say you did not have enough money in your account for the transaction so they charged a fee because of the account being in arrears. Its obviously just a way to make more money as they can freely charge you whatever they like and say its normal bank charges which in fact the error was not on the account holders side but on the side of the retailer or the bank. We are being ****** everyday without us even knowing it. People like us that dont earn alot keep an eye on our accounts and we notice these things but we have no power or legal foot to stand on because these retailers like midas will just blame the bank and the bank will blame them. So what now Midas? I have not recieved my refund, you said you cannot supply me with the part I need and my account is in the minus because of your poor service. This is **************** from both sides. I wont support Midas ever again and I will make sure I will let everyone else know not to support them and all other branches. Also the pricing is crazy. One Midas Branch asked R2200 incl Vat for the part, another Midas asked R4300 for the part, another one asked R3500. (The original Manufacturer asks R2600 for the part) So the markup is ridiculous and there are people that actually pays these high amounts so the seller makes 100% profit most of the time. We are being ********** everyday of our lives. We pay tax on everything at high rates, fuel prices are soaring, bank charges are out of hand and interest rates are skyhigh. Welcome to the next Zimbabwe. Our money is worth nothing and service delivery is up to sh*t and everyone is *******. I hope Midas reads this and I will wake up as this type of service is just not acceptable.
Good Day,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
We have liaised with the store in question and were advised that the credit was done on the card mention as you have mentioned.
Kindly take note of the following:
- The issue here is with the money not reflecting on your account. Please note that once the card has been swiped at the store and the machine produces the slip then the transaction is with the bank
- The bank takes up to 10 working days to process the transaction
- The money will reflect on your account after the bank has cleared it
- As the franchisor, we cannot dictate the price which the franchisees charge their customers hence every store will charge a different price
Kindly be in contact with your bank and they will be able to give you an indication of the date at which the money will reflect on your account.
We hope that all is in order.
Kind regards,
Midas Team
