Midas a bunch of *****
I was on holiday on the north coast of Kzn. I needed a car battery and decided to visit the midas store in Ballito. I purchased the battery and told them that I did not have the old battery with me.
Shaylin the salesman told me I could bring it in at a later time to which I responded that I am from Johannesburg and will be making my return home that evening. I asked him if I could take it to another store and he rep**** yes I could.
I then tried taking the battery and my invoice to my local midas and was told that the stores are independently owned and it was not possible. I called the store and was told that shaylin would call me back. Needless to say this never materialised. After several calls to him without any joy I called head office and spoke to tumelo who said he would get in touch and call me back on the 15th of January 2020. He too did not bother to honour his word. When I called back today he said he tried calling me which was a lie as there was no missed call notification and then said that I would only get a refund for the old battery at the store i made the purchase.
I am extremely annoyed by the lies of both parties and also that i was promised that my calls would be returned which never happened. To be told that i now need to go all the way back to Kzn for a refund totalling just under 300 rands. That is about the cost of toll fees one way.
It is so easy to take my money and lie to me because now I am too far away to do anything about the matter. The old salesman trick of saying anything to conclude the deal and then leave you chasing after them when they have taken what they want from you.
