Faulty Battery!!!

Purchased a Enertec gel 12v 7Ah motorcycle battery from Umhlanga Ridge Midas on the 12/09/2015 and place it into my motorcycle but didnt start it as I did not need to use it. On the 14/09/2015 when I went to turn my motorcycle on it started perfectly fine but after a km or so of driving i just lost all power and saw smoke coming from my battery compartment causing my bike to cut out. I proceeded to pull over and investigate the damage and what i found was that the battery shorted out frying all my electrical cabling between my starter solenoid, starter motor and the faulty battery and also breaking the parts in between. I decided to return the battery to Umhlanga Ridge Midas to exchange it as i was fully aware of the CPA act allowing me to return for a refund or exchange as long as i produce a proof of payment. ie a slip, But i was unable to exchange the battery as the gentleman behind the counter refused to give me another one, took the faulty one for a claim case and said he will get back to me. up to this day I've still havent had any response which disapoints me as ive always turned to Midas for hardware and mechanical supplies. Please my I get some assistance on this matter.
