Chery QQ shocks

Enquired about the price of shocks for the chery QQ at midas sun valley and was quoted a specific price. I decided to shop around and saw that the prices on average were all the same. I then called the Monday and ordered the shocks and got a different price for the front shocks I then decided as I am in Wynberg I'll get the shocks from the Claremont branch. After purchasing the shocks and taking it to my mechanic he told me that the shocks weren't new and that you can see by the damaged washer that it had been used. Together we took it back and what surprised me was that we were not even asked the most obvious question which is "why are you bringing it back" the salesman just asked for my till slip and took the shocks back as though they expected it to come back and told me they did not have any other stock.
