MID BRAK PROPERTIES: LET THE BUYER BEWARE!

Mid Brak Properties is a letting, rental and holiday accommodation letting agency in Klein Brak River, South Africa. They listed a property, Sea the View, 132 Grysbok Avenue Apartment, Klein Brak Rivier, 6503, South Africa, I assume on behalf of their client, with Booking.com and between them and Booking.com, allege to have made a mistake with the rates quoted by Booking.com. However, Booking.com accepted our booking and money as per their quotation for the dates in question. Unknown to us, Mid Brak Properties, in cohorts with Booking.com, unilaterally cancelled our booking without our knowledge and consent, having absolutely no regard for their legal obligation to honour their contractual obligation. On top of it, we now have to wait, and we do so with abated breath, between 7 and 12 days to get our money back! Needless to say that Booking.com is a hopeless case as they refer you to the establishment and having spoken to Amanda, she pleaded ignorance. All she could have done to satisfy us, is to engage with us and attempt to resolve the matter amicably and this review would have been different. Instead, the response from Booking.com has been - 'talk to the hand'! I have copied Amanda in on all my e-mails with Booking.com and she has yet to acknowledge receipt of any of them, let alone respond to any of its contents.

In the meantime the owner of 'Sea the View' is none the wiser, since Mid Brak Properties are their appointed agents.

So, let the buyer beware!
