MicroWorld Online ********* business practices

On the 8th of January I added 2 x Crucial X9 2TB Portable SSD into my Amazon basket at R3630 each. The next morning I call the supplier (MicroWorldOnline) who is selling the same item for R4929 and speak to Ebrahim to ask them some technical questions. When he finally comes back to me on WhatsApp, I go back onto Amazon only to find that the items in my basket and on Amazon are no longer available at R3630 and that the seller, who is MicroWorldOnline, have inflated their price to R4739.Absolutely disgusting! So MicroWorldOnline were not happy that their product was R1299 cheaper at Amazon and on special until 23 Jan 2026 so they "removed" it from Amazon, hiked the price and then had it relisted back at Amazon!

That's just being ************.

MicroWorldOnline rep**** as follows

Good day

I’m addressing this directly as we’re unable to respond publicly on HelloPeter without a paid subscription. We’ve operated for over 15 years without any prior HelloPeter complaints, which is why we’ve never needed — nor planned — a subscription.

Having reviewed the matter properly, it’s clear that the pricing app**** reflected current replacement cost after limited on-hand stock was depleted. Your screenshot of Syntech dealer pricing confirms your awareness of prevailing market pricing at the time.

As you know, basket pricing is not a confirmed transaction, stock is not reserved until checkout, and pricing adjusts automatically once on-hand inventory is exhausted — particularly in the current SSD and memory market, which is experiencing extreme volatility.

This matter could have been resolved amicably and promptly had it been raised directly before being escalated publicly. The HelloPeter post characterises the situation as ********* conduct, which is inaccurate and not supported by the facts.

In light of the above, I’m requesting that the HelloPeter post be removed, as it misrepresents standard stock-based pricing mechanics that you were demonstrably aware of at the time.

Best Regards
