Just set up my wife's new laptop which obviously came with Windows 11. Admittedly an MS hater for the last 40 years, I thought I'd point out why, with an example that shows their continual incompetence. Fair enough, a minor example but one that reveals IMHO why people love Apple and hate MS - the former because they seem to care about their customers while many of the latter obviously hate them with a passion.
The issue? Well, OK, apart from not allowing users to reset the desktop to suit what they are used to in W10 (like me), but particularly - once you've worked out how to move the Taskbar icons to the left hand side where they always were - the power button can't be moved to the left hand corner to be above the Start button on the window that replaces the previous one, so you either have to try and position the latter as close underneath it as possible, or give up, smash a few plaster busts of the so-called wonderful MS boss, Nadella, against the wall, and collapse in hysterical tears on the floor. BTW, judging from the online comments, others have approached MS to ask for the power button to be moveable but have received the usual arrogant responses from the geeks.
Oh and another BTW: if anyone from MS actually reads this, please note that I will NEVER EVER use 'Edge' - even if it does come with ChatGPT - thanks to the incessant nonsense about it you get bombarded with while going through the installation process.
