Office 365 failure to switch outlook

I purchased office 365 to replace office 2016. It seems that most apps were installed without a problem, except for outlook. It requires a product key, which i can't find anywhere. Online support sends me in circles and the websites they send me to does not have icons corresponding to their prompts.
