Microsoft's cell phone apps totally allienate us

I have been trying for 3 WEEKS to update the apps on my microsoft phone, with no success at all. This has caused me much inconvenience, frustration and embarrassment, as I cannot access or reply to important work and other messages on whatsapp. I have tried to find someone to assist me, and was told that only a microsoft technician will be able to help me. There is no such person anywhere that I can find. When I went onto the microsoft website, to recover the password which I was asked for to update the whatsapp, it was such a drama, that I eventually gave up after many attempts. This is just unacceptable, non existant customer service, and I will advise anyone out there never to purchase a microsoft enabled, or rather, disabled phone.
