Damage caused by Windows 2010 downlod

After repeated requests to upgrade to Windows 2010 (continuous messaging on my Laptop) I downloaded the upgrade. The process caused my computer to shutdown and in effect, prevented me from using my HP Envy i7 computer. The India based call centre was of no use at all. <br> <br> The software repair cost R700. Additional downtime costs were well in excess of this cost. The manner in which Microsoft promote the 2010 upgrade is reckless, negligent and as in my case, capable of causing significant harm, the nature of which will take a while to fully recover from. <br> <br> Proceed with extreme caution when dealing with Microsoft and their much vaunted upgrades. It will be interesting to see whether Microsoft compensate me for the unnecessary costs incurred. Having reinstalled Microsoft 8 I see that the 2010 upgrade requests have resumed.
