Worst SERVICE EVER -

There should be a 0 Star rating.

I have been a long client of Metropolitan Life, haven't missed one payment, but I am treat like *******. I lost my father on the 4th of January and on the 14th I lost my mother, I made contact with metropolitan and submitted all the required documents, I was promised that the matter would be resolved in 4-7 days. today is the 27th and I submitted all the relevant documents. I am phoning every 2nd day to get a update, but nothing happens. All I hear is they will escalate the matter to the teamleader who will follow up with the claims department. Nothing is being done, and yet my debit order for the month is going off again. They will definitely be on time collecting my money, but take forever to pay out my claim.

With all the heartache and sorrow that I am going through I still need to fight with Metropolitan to pay me for my claim. Or at the very least contact me to update me what is happening, till today I am the one that always have to make contact with Metropolitan. I really will not recommend this company to anybody.

Dear Monray George
We are sorry to learn of the losses you have suffered.  Our sincere condolences go out to you and your family during this time of bereavement.

We regret that you have experienced delays with your claims and apologize for any inconvenience caused by the delay.

Without trying to make excuses, please allow us to provide you with some context around the delays our clients are experiencing at present:
  • We have been receiving a marked increase in claims as our valued clients , like yourself, battle the pandemic and have to lay loved ones to rest.
  • Our own staff have also been similarly affected with many either battling Covid-19 infection or having to quarantine due to exposure to infected people, while others need to take the time to lay their relatives to rest or some offices need to be closed for deep steam-cleaning in the interest of keeping our clients and our staff as safe as possible.
  • All of this causes that there are fewer assessors available to process the claims.

We would like to assure you that we are tirelessly working towards catching up with this abnormal influx of claims and we are sorry that this has impacted our service delivery to you, at a time when your family needed the policy payout the most.

One of our Client Care Assessors will investigate and revert back to you as soon as possible.

 Regards

 Client Care Team
