WHY WAS THE FUNERAL POLICY CANCELED INSTEAD OF RETIREMENT ANNUITY AS ALL LETTERS WERE REFERRING TO RA????

I took out a funeral policy with Metropolitan life in 2015 at work. I also took Retirement Annuity again last year which I later wanted to cancel it. I've sent several letters stating my case. I've never noticed that I've mentioned the wrong policy number on those letters. All those letters have never mentioned funeral policy, they're all referring to the RA.

I think what they've should've done is to call for the clarity as the letter is talking to the RA with funeral policy. Instead they canceled the funeral policy turning on a blind eye on the RA,I have never mentioned funeral policy on any letter and I'm not even intending to cancel it.

The reason behind the mix up of the policy numbers is that both policies I'm paying five hundred and some rands which makes it hard to differentiate as they're not even labeled on the salary advice. Metropolitan life failed to simply clarify the mix up in all those letters even when I followed up they've never even bothered to explain or ask any questions with regards to those letters.

My question now is that the letter was stating two different things why did they left behind the RA which was boldly written on those letter???? Had the consultant didn't call me how I was going to find out that they've canceled the wrong policy??? Are we important when we sign their contracts only, then the rest doesn't matter?
