Unfair insurance practice
My grandfather had a funeral policy that was taken out by his employer of which was a certain amount however the cover was small so he decided to pay monthly premiums since 1993 to increase the cover amount of which he has been honouring to date. To his surprise when he has to claim for his wife’s passing, they told him that they only amount that he would be able to claim is the one from his employer as the policy is on a “paid up” status. The premiums he paid since 1993 he will not be able to claim which does not make sense. He almost had a heart attack hearing that as he is 86 year old man
