TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, NO SYMPATHY FOR THIER CUSTOMERS

This is by far the worst client service group. My dad passed away on the 14th of Jan 2020. I was informed to send all documents of which I did on the 23 Jan 2020. I was informed on Friday the 24th that they have received all documents and the process is in place that I would get the money on the 27th. I did not receive any SMS or email confirming payment, I have to call them every now and then and I get the same sad story. One guy from their office said this would take almost 7 days ...what is the point of sending stuff through email if I would then be told that I needed to go to the branch. I am so disappointed with the way Metropolitan is handling my claim. I will not recommend anyone to do business with you. All they know is to put you on hold . they can't even answer simple questions

Dear Mariah

We acknowledge receipt of your complaint.

Please accept our sincere condolences at the loss of your father.

We always strive to serve all our clients well and regret to learn that you experienced delays with the processing of your father's claim.

We do strive to process funeral claims as swiftly as possible and have a 95 % success rate of achieving the 48 hour turnaround time we aim for.
  • At our Client Service offices, we only receive claims originating locally, so these claims are often processed the same or next day
  • At Head Office however, we receive a much larger volume of claims, as they are received from right across the country, which changes the turn-around time to about 5 days.

This being said by way of explanation, one of our Client Care Assessors will investigate the matter and revert back to you directly, as swiftly as possible.

Regards

Client Care Team
