This is the message I received,

Dear Client An investment policy pays out when the policy matures. Premiums paid on the policy is not refundable when you cancel the policy. The only premiums that will be refundable is from the month after you request cancellation. Therefore if we receive any further premiums as from February 2021, we will refund that premium. Kind RegardsYours Sincerely
i was not aware that when you try to save as a form of investment when you can lo longer afford u never get any cent that that you have put there, that is that. Am gonna learn to invest on my own rather or with a bank. I salute you Metropolitan.

Dear Kat

Thank you for your additional comments.

The response you quote on the comment appears to be taken out of context as it was a response to a specific question you posed to the our Client Care Assessor.

Please note that one only has around month from it's issue date (cooling-off period)  for most policies and receive any premiums deducted for the policy.

After a policy acquires cash values, one cannot 'cancel' it anymore, but can only surrender it or make it paid-up if one wants to stop paying premiums.

  • If your policy is restricted (in terms of legislation) one cannot surrender it until the restriction period has expired.
  • One can still apply to make it paid-up in order to stop paying premiums.  In such a case, premiums received after the paid-up effective date is refundable.

One of our Client Care Assessors will revert back to you directly, to assist you on how the above affects your policy.

Regards

Client Care Team
