Shoddy feedback and just an absolute nightmare getting things done
Hi, I have a Metropolitan Life Annuity and made a withdrawal from my savings pot. An absolute nightmare to say the least.
One of your consultants, Mr Bell, is every Monday at my workplace.
On Monday, 28 October 2024 i consulted Mr Bell and requested that my cellphone number be changed and to assist me to withdraw from my savings pot.
Since my cellphone number did not want to update (yes, 9 November 2024 and STILL NOT UPDATED) Mr Bell did the withdrawal request manually. I gave Mr Bell my bank account number in person and he wrote it down on a piece of paper. A day or two later Mr Bell and whoever else at your office said my bank account cannot accept debit and credit payments. I sent a confirmation of account letter but received the same feedback (cannot accept debit and credit payments). I then sent 2 of my other bank accounts including confirmation of account but got the same feedback for both these accounts (cannot accept debit and credit payments) - seems like a copy and paste feedback rather than due diligence but what do I know.
On Friday I had to take a day of from work to visit your office at Parc du Cup. I demanded to see the "cannot accept eft payments error" on the computer screen just to notice that my bank account number was entered incorrectly. Meaning, 2 persons had seen the confirmation of account and both entered my details incorrectly.
Nevertheless, on Friday the consultant at your Bellville branch apologised and said my account is now verified and payment will be made the same day.
2 days later and still no payment reflecting in my bank account.
I'm not posting this review to badmouth the staff I dealt with as both actually apologised for their "oversight". All I want is that the money I withdrew from my savings pot reflect in my account. The payment was made to my account on Friday (or is this a lie and another shoddy feedback given) so what is the hold up now? No more excuses, no more having to take off from work, no more (still) trying to change my cellphone number, no more weird feedback, please. Kindly pay my money, that's all I am requesting Metropolitan to do. A normal eft payment doesn't take this long so what's the hold up if the payment was made to my account on Friday (as the consultant at the Bellville branch said it was)? It's very simple for Metropolitan to deduct my monthly premium but paying money into my account seem like it's the most complicated task.
