Shame on You, Metropolitan

I lost my mother at the end of August and submitted a claim with Metropolitan which was paid on time but R500 short. A week after the funeral, i contacted Metropolitan to enquire about the process for continuation as well as the R500 shortfall. I was then informed that "management" was still considering whether or not to continue with "FF" policies and that the R500 was the following month's premium ad that i would be contacted regarding the way forward. I called again after 2 weeks, only to be informed that the decision was that we needed to take out a new policy with new rates but no waiting period would apply. I then queried why new rates would be needed if the policy holder would be my father (it was previously my mother) and no clear answer provided. I then received a email from Wilfred Baardman on 9/10, which i responded to and still have received no response from him or Karen Abrahams. 14/10 I called Metropolitan AGAIN to request that continuation be finalised, i was then told that someone would contact me to complete the quotation which hasn't happened.

Honestly, if i wasn't fatigued with the amount of admin that comes with wrapping up an estate, i would cancel this policy and take up an Assupol policy: their service has been amazing throughout this process. I unfortunately cannot do so right now, so can somebody from Metropolitan contact me for a quotation so the matter is finalised. Your conduct through this matter has been poor and i am only doing this for convenience and due to time pressures. When the time is right, we will move the policy to an insurer who backs up their word with their actions

Despite the assurance that someone would contact me "shortly". 5 days have passed, nobody has bothered to contact me, if only your client service wasn't limited to maintaining the facade of BEING SEEN as a company that serves its clients.

The rationale for new rates doesn't make sense : I have stated that the policy would be taken over by my father, the relational status of everyone on the policy remains exactly the same as when my mother was policyholder. I would understand your rationale if the policyholder was anyone other than my father.

Clearly this is an opportunity for Metropolitan to capitalise on our loss.

I have demonstrated sufficient effort to continue with this policy ans that you cant cancel it, if your intentions are to frustrate me and have the policy lapse, you have another thing coming: my family WILL CONTINUE to be covered by you.

FOR THE SECOND TIME IN 5 DAYS, CAN SOMEBODY FROM METROPOLITAN CALL ME TO FINALISE THE QUOTATION!!!!!
