Saving backwards

Had a savings account that debited R350 monthly from August 2017 and I increased the installments to R500 from February 2018 to July 2018. Then August and September 2018 they devoted R550. Today is the 9th October 2018 I went to check how much I've saved so far and found that its R4000 something to top it off when I withdraw I get 3200???just cancelled it. Was saving backwards nje???
