REFUSING TO GIVE ME MY RETIREMENT ANNUITY MONEY
<p>I went to metropolitan yesterday to cancel my retirement annuity money as I am no longer working but they are refusing to give me my retirent annuity back because its more than 7000 and I need my money as I was not told about this when I joined.</p> <p> </p> <p>Now they are telling about the policy and when I am asking a copy they are refusing to send it to me, I dont want stories but I want my money back because I need it.</p>
Thank you for sharing your concerns. I understand your disappointment in not being able to withdraw your retirement funds. A retirement policy is governed by legislation tabled under the income tax and pension fund acts. A membwr is not allow to surrender his retirement fund policy when the funds is greater than R7000. When you joined the fund you became a member of the fund and bound by the rules.
