Poor service and bad faith claim
Hello Peter
My late Mother had a life insurance policy with Metropolitan Life. 2017 i enquired about the policy, regarding the benefits or claim. I was told the policy has already lapsed. I took the matter to the Ombudsman, which unfortunately I lost the case, because Metropolitan was not willing to provide me with all the necessary documents I needed.
Documents like premium reminder letters, and lapsed letter's. I was told the system has updated itself, there's no information. The policy had a severe illness benefit. The benefit can be paid if only the chief medical officer is satisfied that the life expectancy of the life covered is less than twelve months.
When the policy holder was admitted in hospital, the policy was still active, but metropolitan will try to shift the grace period, so they cannot pay the claim.
On the contract the policy wording state "a claim submitted within the grace period will be assessed as normal". After I lost to the ombudsman, luckily I got a premium reminder letter . I wrote to metropolitan for appeal, since I had a new evidence. But unfortunately they didn't want to listen to my story.
The premium reminder prove that the policy was still active when the policy holder was still alive or admitted in hospital.
I need help, so that metropolitan can respond to my complaint. I've been emailing Metropolitan, but no respond. I know the policy was still active from the evidence I have, and from the policy wording on the contract.
Metropolitan can't consider everything I'm saying. Or any evidence I'm supplying to them

Metropolitan responded to my email, but I was told they can't assist me with my complain as they normally do.
