Poor service

So apparently Metropolitan has a right to overwrite someone's will vele? I am not happy at all with their service. word of advise, your children will starve thinking they will be sorted after you pass away. They only know how to chow peoples hard earned money and let their children suffer after they die. Nonsense ya policy.

Dear Kego

We acknowledge receipt of your complaint.

Regrettably your complaint did not contain sufficient information to trace the policy your complaint refers to.

What we can however respond at this time is that Metropolitan has no wish to, nor the authority to change/re-write anyone's last will and testament.

We distribute death claim proceeds of policies in line with the policy owner's instruction and/or in line with the relevant legislation governing that specific product. Therefore, in terms of

  • Endowment policies - death benefits are payable to the beneficiary/ies the policy owner appointed - in accordance with the Long Term Insurance Act
  • Retirement Annuities - death benefits are payable to the policy owner's financial dependant/s - in terms of the Pension Funds Act

We trust that the above will provide you with more clarity on distribution of policy proceeds

One of our Client Care Assessors will be contacting your shortly to obtain the information neccesary to investigate your complaint and respond directly to you.

Regards

Client Care Team
