No return on investment

I have an investment policy with Metropolitan which matures in 3 months time. i started with a premium of R250 and currently paying R 750.54 on my tenth year maturity. In 2009 i took out a cash out of R4000 and i made up for that by increasing my premiums with additional R100 on top of the annual 10% increment. In total my premium contributions amounts to R60 884,22 until my last premium in December 2015. Yesterday i got the shock of my life when i inquired about my return on investment so that i can plan for it only to be told my investment payout is R55 000. This amount is even less than what i contributed to my investment. Where is my return on this 10 year investment? Is Metropolitan cheating me of my hard earned money by not giving me the growth my money earned while it was with them for ten years. This matter need an investment expert from metropolitan who will tell me how did they reach negative growth on my investment or is metropolitan a money making scheme cheating clients their return on money. I would like to make South Africans aware that they should stay away from metropolitan because it cheats clients of their money. Day light ******s for ten years, I WANT MY MONEY
