Must I walk 48km to lodge a claim??

my father in law passed away on 8 August. he had a funeral policy with Metropolitan for many years.

Now trying to claim the payout to cover his funeral costs, Metropolitan are insisting that we have to personally drop off their documents at their Belleville head office - 48km away !!

do you expect me or my wife to walk there?????? I can do all sorts of business with you over the phone and via your website and email.. but heaven forbid we need to actually claim, then we have to find our way to your head office to hand in forms??? so much for your 72 hour turn time that you advertise!!

can you please make a decent plan to accept the claim documents and pay out his funeral money as his body is taking up a lot of space in my freezer!!! and we want to bury him now!

Hello sjg37,

Thank you for raising your concerns with our office.

It is always our ambition to serve all our clients well.

I also refer to our telephonic discussion of a moment ago. We do accept electronically transmitted claims (i.e. fax and email) as well as accept claims submitted at your local Client Service Offices and Head Office.

We will investigate and revert back to you via return email.

Our claims division will also be contacting your wife to initiate and process the claim.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any unacceptable service received.

Warm Regards
