Metropolitan Life made good, but must address Ametlife issues

After much frustration I received excellent service from Aletta. She promptly processed the claim and did it will care and consideration and furnished me with a detailed account of our discussion. Dankie Aletta. I will however plead with Metroplitan to address issues around contact details in the public domain for Ametlife. I wrote 3 times and got no response. It is frustrating to only have a deduction on bank account and NO OTHER CONTACT INFORMATION for the company. I accept the explanation that Metropolitan took over, but I found it stressful to have to deal with banging my head against a brick wall and mourn the sudden death of my mother. It will also help to explain the nature of the policy, especially in view of the fact that no policy documents are available. There are many complaints about Ametlife on the internet. With every one of them, people complain that they cannot contact the business. My matter could have been sorted out much sooner and presented much less stress for me.

Dear Daphne,
Thank you for sharing your concerns with us and your words of appreciation.  I do understand your frustration.

Changes to the Metropolitan reference on bank statement:   AMETLIFE   vs  Metropolit

Clients will be informed during July of the following changes:

We would like to inform you that as from August 2020, due to a system upgrade, we will do two separate deductions for your funeral policy and your endowment/retirement policy.

The debit order references on your monthly bank statement will also change to make it easy for you to identify. Your references will now be as follows:

  • For your funeral policy: Metropolit (plus one of your funeral policy numbers)
  • for your endowment/retirement policy: AMETLIFE (plus a bank reference number).

The changes will be in two phases and we hope to proceed with the second phase to enhance the  endowment / retirement policies soon thereafter.
Regards
Metropolitan:  Client Care
