Metropolitan Life: In your time of need, they are not there for you.
My mother-in-law has passed away, and I’m trying to help my 87-year-old father-in-law claim what is owed to him after paying his premiums annually. However, Metropolitan Life will not allow me to assist him. They insist that he must either send a WhatsApp message from his phone (which he does not have) or visit their branch in person to file the claim. How is this expected from someone who is 87 years old?
I spoke with Meshack at the call center and asked if there were any alternative options available. Unfortunately, he just kept repeating the same information. It’s incredibly frustrating that they won’t provide me with clear guidance on how I can assist him in this process.
During our time of trauma, they have only made things more difficult. Even though I am mourning, I am furious at the lack of empathy and assistance from a company that is supposed to provide support in times of despair. Now, I feel even more overwhelmed!
After 10 minutes on the phone, I still have no idea how we will be able to claim this on behalf of my father-in-law!
We are sorry to read about your mother-in-law's passing. Our sincere condolences go out to you and the family during this time of bereavement.
We strive to provide the best service to all our clients and regret the difficulties you have encountered with the claim.
One of our Escalation Specialists will investigate the complaint and revert back to you as soon as possible.
