METROPOLITAN FAILURE

This is the second time in a space of couple of months. I sent the necessary documents on Wednesday for my refund. Called them on Friday and was tole they did not receive them sent them again on Friday to all relevant parties and was told this morning they did not receive them sent them to the lady spoke to she received them and now only are they saying they will process my refund. It is a constant struggle and am really irritated. I want to take my policies elsewhere but have been paying for years. Its an irritating and exhausting process. I will not be recommending them to anyone else this is abusive and CPA has to put strict policies and even major fines on such insitutions.

Dear Aviwe

We acknowledge receipt of your complaint on HelloPeter.

We always strive to serve all our clients well and regret to read of the difficulties you encountered with the submission of your refund documentation.

Please be advised that where one pays one's policy premium via Stop Order, it is a very reliable method to pay premiums, but it comes with its own set of challenges:
  • Firstly, it takes about two months for us to activate, change, skip or cancel a deduction.  This is due to closing dates for compilation of magnetic tapes sent to employers on our side, as well as the closing dates for the employer to implement these tapes on their next payroll run.

  • Also, we don't receive individual payments like when your payments are collected directly from your bank account.  We receive a bulk payment from the employer with all staff members' various policy premiums on one payment schedule and then we have to match the amount received and allocate each policy premium to the correct policy.  Therefore, the premium is not received immediately when you receive your salary, but only at the end of that month or early the following month.  Often therefore, the premium is only allocated to your policy in the first or second week of the month following when it was deducted from your salary.

One of our Escalation Specialists will investigate your complaint and revert back directly to you as soon as possible.

Regards

Metropolitan Client Care Team
