Metropolitan

I am very disappointed in Metropolitan, my aunt died in 2021 and I'm the beneficiary of her policy. When are you paying me the accidental benefit? I am the legal guardian of her kids now and life has become tough, It's been 46 months and you told me that you can't pay the benefit unless the constable or Detective answers the phone. Why I'm supposed to suffer and how I'm supposed to feed her kids? 46 months and you have not gotten back to me .46 months and life has been tough. Metropolitan you are disgusting and rotten to the core

Dear Okuhle

We acknowledge receipt of your complaint on HelloPeter.

We always strive to serve all our clients and their families well and regret reading of the difficulties you are encountering with part of your claim.

While it is admirable that you are taking care of your cousins, please note that this is not an income plan but a funeral policy with accidental death benefits which may (or may not) be payable at death of a participant.

Unfortunately in order to assess whether or not the Accident Benefit is payable on the policy, we do need the full Declaration by Police form completed by the Investigating Officer (I/O)..

Once received we need to validate the information contained in the Declaration by Police and pose additional questions to the I/O .  If there is sufficient information to reach a claims decision on the accident benefit, we proceed with the processing of the accident benefit.  If not, we may need to request the Judicial inquest report to determine if there is a valid accident claim.

This being said, one of our Escalation Specialists will investigate and revert back to you as soon as possible.

Regards

Client Care Team
