Metropolitan

Person had retirement annuity/policy with metropolitan, she passed away on the 5/3/2025.

Around 10 April ,I phoned metropolitan offices to find out about the policies/Retirement Annuity. The consultant told me they need the letter of authority,I told her ,I don't have but the is Will in place, she further told me they want the Will,Recent Payslips and an affidavit to proceed.

I further reported the matter to an executor of the Will to follow up with Metropolitan and now the report executor received is that funds were paid to the person that had letter of authority.

That is where ,I don't understand because they were only three companies listed on the letter and metropolitan was not included on the letter. And how do the pay without getting the Will and the person is not heir/beneficiary of the Will.

The was letter of authority done for the expenses of the funeral because ,the was not beneficiary and in order for funeral to proceed, letter of authority had to be done.

How does he claimed if the company was not on the letter of authority. The is Will in effect ,and he is not heir/beneficiary of the Will .
