I was misleaded in taking policy

In October 2015 i have joined Metropolitan insurance. In taking the policy i was adbosed that tje waiting peripd is 6 mnths, i was never advised on how the 6mnths will be counted. So far i have paid 6 premiums, my father passed on and I was advised that they wont be payong as I have not finished 6 months. The first premium was on tje. Month end of October. My questipn is it was deducted immediately after joining and i was dvosed that after the 1st premium i qualify for accidental cover. So why cant i qualify for natural death after the 6 premiums why it must 6 calenda month. Out of anger and dissapointment i cancelled tje policy. O think the informatipn i was given when i was joinong the policy was unclear and misleading. Please assist.
