False information from an Advisor

My father covered his mother with Metropolitan years ago and the Financial Advisor that assisted him did advise my dad that Metropolitan does cover people from abroad. My grandmother is Namibian, my dad is South African and he covered his mother here in South Africa. He called Metropolitan to check if his policies are still okay and he got to ask about his mother's policy where he was told that Metropolitan does not cover people from other countries, now he wants to get a refund on the policy and his request was rejected. How does one make a follow up on this matter?

Dear Pipe

We acknowledge receipt of your complaint on HelloPeter.

We regret to read that your father seems to have received some contradictory information around his mother's cover.

Please be advised that it depends on the product rules which will indicate if there is a territorial clause attached to the cover your father took for your grandmother.

Regrettably your post does not contain sufficient information in order for us to trace the policy and confirm if a territorial clause applies to the policy or not.

One of our Escalation Specialists will contact you directly to obtain more information to trace the policy, investigate and advise accordingly.

Regards

Metropolitan Client Care team
