Death ***
My late husband had a funeral policy with Metropolitan and when he died I was the beneficiary and I was told the people who are under the policy will still be covered so when they die I should come and make a claim. One of the insured members passed away and I submitted the claim documents including the letter of authority of my husband. I am now told I need to have a letter of authority for deceased insured member. My question is, if I was appointed to handle my late husband estates, why do I need a letter of authority for the insured member? The insured members have kids and I feel they are the ones who should have the letter of authority not me. Meaning that for all those members that are on his policy I will need a letter of authority for them as well when they pass? What is the point of me having his (my husband) letter of authority? Why should I get my husband family member to do the letter of authority and claim on his policy? Please advise
