Beneficiary Update

So I have had a Metropolitan Funeral Policy for quite a number of years, received a letter via email to update details and noted there is no beneficiary noted on the policy so like with all my other policies you can update a beneficiary telephonically, email or online but with Metropolitan you cannot they keep sending me a form after I informed them I do not have access to a printer, the form cannot even be updated electronically, after my initial email to them someone calls me very blunt that I can send a letter or the email with an electronic signature and they will accept it, well guess what received another email with a beneficiary form to be completed. In this day and age for a company to say they are innovative Metropolitan are not - if a beneficiary is not selected they do not pay out the money for the funeral but these funds get paid to the estate which defeats the point of a funeral policy. There are ways and means to verify your customer why are you still insisting on a document to be completed its not like you can verify a signature either.

Dear Denise

We acknowledge receipt of your complaint on HelloPeter.

We regret to learn of the difficulties you have encountered in registering your beneficiary.

We have always required the beneficiary nomination form for audit purposes and do validations with the client after receiving such a nomination to ensure it is really the client that we receive the instruction from.

We have however taken note of your concerns and will revert back to you directly as soon as possible.

Regards

Client Care Team
