BAD SEVRVICE !!! BAD EXPERIENCE
I am deeply hurt and dissapointed by service I am receiving at metropolitan ... I enquired about my fathers policy last year around july I was sent forms to fill and attach all the required documents after I sent all the required documents on the 01/02/2023 ,I was told to give information about my late brother and an affidavit was provided.
upon that I asked for an update on when the policy payout since every document was sent and I was told they are still assessing the information I waited with no respond until I asked for another update and I was told they need to contact a relative of mine which I fail to understand why becuase my father included all his dependents on his WILL that was provided to the metropolitan team a maintainance order was further provided for assistance but seems like metropolitan are still failing to asses who are the depends of my late father the policy has been with metropolitan for 15 years and my father paid for it for more than 20years and they failed to trace the dependents of the policy holder for the whole 15year or maybe they just didn't care which I understand becuase its not them that are starving its the late policy holder's dependents and now I try to contact them to check on the policy and im told the person handling it its on leave so im trying to understand that must I wait for the person to come back from leave or what . ?
If yes is he/she the only one dealing with claims ? I find this to be very unprofessional we shouldn't be hearing about metropolitan stuff on leave when we trying to make a claim ,we shouldnt be waiting for metropolitan stuff to come back from leave so we can make a claim, when my father was still paying for the RA, metropolitan stuff where going on leave but they where still able to deduct my father's money irregardless. so now I have to wait for the risk assesor to come back from leave only so that he/she can give me the run arounds again the last time I spoke to the assesor he/she told me he needs to contact one of my relatives on monday which is today only to ghost me and go on leave they are not reliable I would rate this company 0 and bad mouth it every chance i get for their incompentancy because I experience all this first hand and deeply frustrated they do not keep their promises I'll be lucky if this RA pays out on time like they promised or pays out at all ... People need to stay away from mettopolitan if you dont want your children starving incase something happens to you before 55 now im just waiting, asking myself if my father has been ****med by this company and are all my fathers hard earned monies ever gonna payout
We acknowledge receipt of your complaint on HelloPeter.
We are sorry to learn of the delays/difficulties with your claim on your late father's Retirement Annuity.
Please be advised that Retirement Annuities don't fall under the provisions of the Long Term Insurance Act where claims are paid to beneficiaries. Retirement Annuities fall under the provisions of the Pension Funds Act as well as the Pension Funds Act.
As such, we need to ensure that proceeds are distributed to legal and financial dependents.
Unfortunately, the later a claim is submitted, the more difficult it may be to trace all the financial and legal dependents of the deceased.
Our Board of Trustees cannot make a decision on the distribution of the proceeds of the Retirement Annuity without tracing and assessing the level of dependency of all the legal and financial dependents of the deceased.
Regrettably, this may be a long and drawn-out process, but a very necessary one.
One of our Client Care Assessors will investigate and revert back to ou as soon as possible.
